The powerful stories of faith found in the first book of the Bible are a pilgrim's path for Christians. These stories are explored in depth during this seminar with a focus on how to listen to the tales more attentively.
Preachers and Teachers will discover new ways of effectively telling Scriptures in their ministries. Counselors, Spiritual Directors, Formation Directors, and others will find that this seminar will empower them to communicate the Scriptures more effectively.
Finally, every adult Christian will leave the seminar with a deeper appreciation of the Book of Genesis and its many stories. These prayerful seminar/retreat is both for listening or telling. Come to the seminar and participate on the level that is most comfortable for you. Listeners and tellers are both welcome.
Telling & Praying: The Deep Connection
Telling is an act of prayer. It is not a lecture, not a performance. We can only tell if we truly listen to the story. If we dwell within the story and we practice a spiritual discipline, a crafting of words in a prayerful way.
Listening is also an act of prayer. When we listen to, or read, a Biblical story we step into the tale and dwell in its wisdom. Having heard we are moved to tell. The gift we have received becomes the treasure we offer others.
Telling is Praying. Listening is Praying. That is the Good News.
