The Story: In 1993, during the religious and ethnic civil war in Bosnia, the "Old Bridge", built by the Ottoman Turks in 1566 was destroyed.  The bridge not only linked the two parts of the city of Mostar, but was a symbolic bridge between the Christian and Muslim communities.  UNESCO and the World Bank helped rebuild the bridge which was opened in 2004.

Today, the bridge of understanding needs to be built between the three communities who share the inheritance promised to them through the Patriarch Abraham.  This seminar is for Christians -- Catholic, Protestant & Orthodox -- who seek peace, security, and justice for Christians, Jews, and Muslims in the Holy Land and throughout the world.

To begin we must know one another's stories, especially the tales of wisdom that can bring understanding of the Other, but also of our Selves. Stories provide a glass to look outside at others, and a mirror to look inside at ourselves.

Walk the Bridge of Mostar.  It is a journey filled with stories. It is a journey leading towards peace.
