The Six Days between Palm Sunday and Holy Saturday are a pilgrim's path for Christians. The Scripture readings from the Daily Lectionary provide us with spiritual nurture as we walk the final steps on our Lenten path.
How can we more fully hear the Scriptures during this Holy Week? How can we prepare ourselves to be receive God's Word during each day of the sacred journey?
There are many stories of St. Francis of Assisi to help us better understand the Scripture readings from Holy Week, and take the Passion Story of Our Lord into our imaginations and into our hearts.
Francis is our guide and model. The stories about him are our inspiration. Together with the Scriptures, these tales bring us into a profound understanding of the Mystery of the Passion and the Promise of the Resurrection.
This seminar devotes one session to each day of Holy Week: Palm Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Holy Thursday, and Good Friday. Each session includes Scripture, a powerful story from the Way of St. Francis, a discussion, and a prayerful reflection.
It is a deep and meaningful preparation for preachers, teachers, counselors, evangelists, spiritual directors, and other mature adult Christians in their ministry to others. And it is nurture for the pilgrims seeking spiritual enrichment in this holiest of weeks.
Hontoon Island is located on the Saint Johns River one of the great scenic rivers of America. Hontoon Landing is just opposite Hontoon Island State Park (accessible by free passenger ferry) in the middle of an area that includes national forests and national wildlife refuges.
It is a place for hiking, kayaking, and a wonderful two-hour nature cruise with our friend, Captain Gary Rendlett on his boat -- based at Hontoon Landing -- The Blue Heron.

in DeLand, Florida on March 22-25.

For lodgings, we highly recommend Hontoon Landing Resort and Spa which is only 4 miles from DeLand. And 2 miles from the DeLand Amtrak station. Ask for the 10% discounted rate available to participants in this seminar. We only ask them to hold four ro0ms for each group, so your early registration is important. You can reserve the first night by calling them at (800) 248-2474. (Visit their website for more details about Hontoon Landing.) As of February 15, there are no rooms available at Hontoon Landing. However, there are many other lodgings available nearby. Please inquire.

Breakfast foods are available at the Ship's Store at Hontoon Landing. Some of the room also have kitchenettes. Means can be eaten at dockside or around the resort pool. Lunch and Dinner is taken at local restaurants that we highly recommend where we go as a small group. Lodings, Meals and snacks are not included in the tuition.
Cancellations
Because our groups are small (maximum 8 participants) there are no refunds unless someone takes your place. Also, tuition may be applied to a friend or colleague for your registration place, should you need to cancel. Tuition cannot be applied to future seminars.
Travel Arrangements
Orlando is the closest major airport. (Other airports are at Sanford and Daytona Beach.) D.O.T.S. provides shuttle service from either Daytona Beach or Orlando airports to DeLand. A short taxi ride takes you to Hontoon Landing where the seminar is held
Amtrak has twice-daily service to DeLand, Florida from Boston/New York/Washington DC. A short 4 mile taxi ride takes you from the DeLand Amtrak station to Hontoon Landing.
